A contemporary patio will use cubic shapes, rectangles and L’s so the look will be naturally clean and harmonious. Cathedrals, multiple angles and 45-degree floors are now obsolete.

Avoid too bright colors, opt for earth and natural colors, it will create a soothing environment. Even if your home is gray, that does not mean you have to have a gray patio.

Instead of lattice, opt instead for a wall with horizontal boards, which will be much more aesthetic, solid and easy to integrate.

If you want to add flowers to the patio, some strategically arranged pots will do just fine. Terracotta, sandstone, etc., will divide up the sometimes massive effect of other structural materials. If your flowers are drying out, you'll just have to put them under the patio. If you put herbs near the grill, you will not invite the bees on your patio.
